JCM On The Move…

by admin
Since our birth, JCM has been a church on the move! Check out some of our more recent milestones that became critical building blocks for where we are now and all that the Lord is fulfilling in the Earth through us..
Our Timeline...
The Early Years... Oct. 2004 - Nov. 2007
- The First Lady, Mrs. Brenda W. Clay was licensed to preach on Sunday, November 17, 2004. The service was held at Church of Restoration where Pastor and Co-Pastor Vaughn are the Under Shepherds. Later she was ordained with Leonard M. Clay on February 23, 2013, and officially received on March 17, 2013.
- JCM started having Bible Study on the first Tuesday of January 2005. Pastor Paul Saddler of Armistead St. Paul United Church of Christ located in Lanham Md. allowed JCM to lease their building and we moved from my home. When JCM leased worship space at 531 Ritchie Road in Capital Heights we asked and received release from the lease in January 2008.
- Pastor Clay received his Doctorate degree from Maples Springs Baptist Bible College and Seminary on Saturday, May 7, 2005.
- The church prayed for and purchased it first fifteen-passenger van on July 28, 2005, and purchased several other vans to transport members to Bible study and worship services from across Maryland and the District of Columbia.
- God continued to add persons to the ministry. Many young people and adults came to understand more about Jesus, and the need to have Him as a part of their life.
The Subsequent Years... Dec. 2007 – Dec 2010
- During the fifth year the ministry persevered through financial and ministerial challenges as most churches were during the housing and financial collapse. However, God made a way for Jehovah Christian Ministries.
- Moved to 531 Ritchie Road, Capital Heights, MD.
- Established Friday Night prayer meeting which is now held on Thursday night separating Prayer Meeting from Tuesday Night Bible Study.
- Started a programs for our growing young men called Building For Success, and a program to assist families and adults in financial budgeting called Financial Freedom Seminar, this ministry also presented related financial topics to assist the people of God to become lenders rather than borrowers. These programs are now used on a request basis.
- Incorporated ministering at Gospel Rescue Mission (GRM) as a church ministry. GRM is no longer functioning.
- Men’s Fellowship (Men of Power) and Women’s Fellowship (Women of Destiny) began allowing the men and women to enjoy time together in the word and in pray.
- Started CD ministry.
Since 2011...
- In our seventh year, God allowed us to march into a new location at 1420 Ritchie Marlboro Road, Units B-7 and B-8, providing 2½ times more space for ministry. Several new ministries started and others became stronger. New ministries are:
