The Role of the Church

The Role of the Church
Matthew 16:17-19
Church is the only corporate institution that God has ordained. Its role has not changed over the years and the church has been a blessing to many down through the generations, despite its flaws. The church consists of people who have a relationship and love Christ. Who support the church activities and attend church on a regular basis. Jesus came into the world to establish a new way of living, a new way of thinking, and to provide access to the Father. The church has maintained the same role it had from the beginning: To bring men and women to Christ, to encourage the body of believers, and help one another. These principles remain the same.
Today, we want to talk about the benefit of we receive as being church members attending church. The role of the church through the Holy Spirit is the ability to see God moving in our lives and in the world beyond what we see with our natural eye. It is to understand the reason and the purpose of the church in our lives, and finally the benefit of being stabilized in our commitment and love to God through the church.
- Point 1: My Vision is Enlarged. When I accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior my vision is automatically changed forever. I realized that Jesus paid it all. Isaiah 1:18 says, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” I have to come to a point where my mindset must change. I have to declare to myself – “I am changed.” My mind is transformed, my thinking is changed, and as a result my vision is enlarged.
- Point 2: My Purpose Is Established. The church has defined the life purposed for many Christians. It has brought to the fore front their gifts, their talents, and their abilities that God has given them. I do not have to wander around think about “what is my purpose,” but as I come to church God reveals my purpose.
- POINT 3: MY LIFE IS ANCHORED. Church is a place of sanctuary. When troubles hit home, when friends have forsaken you, when the lives of those close to you have passed on, the church stands there to uplift you in your spirit. It helps you to understand that God is working things out on your behalf to allow you to understand that God remains with you and has not left you.
Having a church life means fellowshipping with like-minded believers. The essences of church is fellowshipping with like-minded believers. Believers represent something that cannot be found anywhere else. When I come to church I am expecting not only to fellowship, but to experience God and hear a word. A word to strengthen me to be able to get through my problems. I come out from church uplifted, because I have heard something that will let me look up to God.
The song says, In times like these you need a savior, in times like these you need an anchor. Be very sure, be very sure, your anchor holds and grips the solid rock. This rock is Jesus, He is the one. This rock is Jesus, the only one. Be very sure, be very sure, your anchor holds and grips the solid rock
In times like these you need a bible, in times like these oh be not idle. Be very sure, be very sure, your anchor holds and grips the solid rock. This rock is Jesus, He is the one. This rock is Jesus, the only one. Be very sure, be very sure, your anchor holds and grips the solid rock
